For years when my children were babies, I barely looked in the mirror. Maybe I didn't have time, maybe I didn't want to see how tired I was, maybe I didn't want to see my 'new' body ~ maybe all three!
When I did get time to look in the mirror, I was surprised at my reflection. I looked a little older and I looked a little ragged but I didn't look too bad!
Then I saw a picture of myself.
Let's face it ~ the camera doesn't lie. Your own eyes may deceive you, but the still image in a photograph is a true picture of how you look.
I'll be honest ~ I didn't like what I saw ~ but it was the truth. I had two options: avoid cameras or get my hiney in gear. I chose the latter because although I'm not concerned about how other see me (too much ;)), I am concerned about how I see myself and about how healthy I am on the inside.
So, if you want to see how you really look ~ take a photo. Can you handle the truth? And if you can, what are you gonna do about it?
