But I Never Had to Before!!

So, you grow up your whole life and you've never had to worry about your weight.  You ate pretty smart but didn't worry about calories.  You went to the gym, maybe, or you did some workouts at home ~ but they were pretty casual and you didn't have too much of a problem staying in decent shape and healthy.

Now you've had a child or two or three, you're older and all of the sudden, it's not so easy anymore.

Well, that's me!  And boy did I get an attitude about it!  Frustrated at my body, mad that I had to change things and mostly confused and overwhelmed about what changes I had to make to get fit and stay healthy.

What I finally had to do was to just change my attitude about it.  Forget what was and accept what IS.  (I know, I know, it sounds all very zen or whatever...) But, seriously, and it's not easy.  You're getting older and you've had children ~ your body is different.

Don't fall into the trap of ~ "I never had to watch what I eat or workout hard before, so I'm not gonna do it now!"  Or you're buying a one way ticket to old and decrepit town ~ population: more than there should be.

So, re-align your attitude and make a simple plan!  Eat smarter, be more active (cardio-wise) every day and weight train a couple of times a week.
